Alcohol sales goes up during the Coronavirus

This report is brought to you by FARE Australia.

In a news report by 7news, alcohol sales has gone up. This is due to the fact that people are staying at home and are stressed out. Gyms are not open and nor is bars and restaurants. But is it good for our health?

We have seen the fact that many people have lost their jobs and know how expensive alcohol is. About 1 in 5 people are buying more booze than usual and are drinking to excess. Its also happening in the UK as well. Unemployment is on the rise. People are experiencing higher levels of anxiety. We are hearing about an increase in family violence due to the drinking.

We have once written about Alcohol and the effects. Our suggestions is that places that are doing takeaway should stop the alcohol sales and instead provide food and non alcoholic beverages. Also the bottleshops don’t need to be open, they should shut for the remainder of the COVID period. Instead the Government should reopen the gyms so that people can vent in there rather than over a bottle of wine or a few cans of beer. On numorous times we have noticed people gathering out there.

Question: if people were worried about the money and jobs right now, wouldn’t the money be better spent on food and paying your bills rather than alcohol?
