Immune system and how to keep it great

Your immune system is the one thing that is keeping you alive and healthy. During times of Covid19 having a healthy immune system is important.

What is a healthy immune system?

It is a system where you get rid of all waste easily and it wards off most diseases. You should be free of any disease. But not many people have this and the rate of cancer and diseases in the US is quite high. Obesity is quite high over there.

The Better Health Channel describes it as such, “The immune system is made up of special organs, cells and chemicals that fight infection (microbes). The main parts of the immune system are: white blood cells, antibodies, the complement system, the lymphatic system, the spleen, the thymus, and the bone marrow. These are the parts of your immune system that actively fight infection.”

Here’s how

Eat your fruits and vegetables! You should have two fruits a day and five vegetables a day. Its a good idea to eat the rainbow. If you don’t like vegetables why not make tomato sauce or do a stir fry? With fruits you can do a smoothie.

You can buy frozen fruit and then make a juice or smoothie. Or eat them frozen. Most fruit and vegetables have a mineral called potassium

Drink plenty of water-more is good. We should drink about 4-5l of water each day! We use water a lot as we sweat, urinate and for some of us we menstruate. For some of us we exercise.

Sleep- we should get 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep every night.

Exercise- about 150 minutes of vigorous activity and some social sessions at the gym helps to boost immunity. Laughter is the best medicine
