The Age Good Food Card program

The Age have a Good Food program which restaurants that the age chooses participates in. The Age is a longstanding good newspaper in Melbourne and they have produced the Good Food Guide each year! The Good Food Gift card supports the hospitality industry which are at the moment doing it very tough.

So we picked a few good places out of the program. We were going to do more than two places but due to pandemic most of the places shut up shop.

Mamak

We enjoyed the roti and nasi lemak here. Here it was not too busy and the staff were just ok.

My nasi lemak does not have the fried chicken but you can add this for an extra $4

Miyako

We went here and it was not too bad. It was a busy Saturday night, but during the pre theatre hours of 5:30pm and 7:30pm we had the vegetarian bento. Here the Vegetarian bento had a lot of things in there such as the tofu which is always a hit with us.

We’ve tried a few other places before in the past such as Peppans cafe and Izakaya Chuji all of which are cheap.

Do support the hospitality industry and buy your Good Food gift card online. If you sign up to their email newsletter you can receive quite a few good deals for that gift card. Their program is valid for 12 months. Dining in Melbourne will open up on the 1st of June.
